Blake Rushing

Blake is back after directing Fendig’s production of Disney’s Newsies last summer! Blake is originally from Carrollton, Texas and grew up traveling to Rensselaer often to visit family. Many visits coincided with Fendig's annual production performances where he was inspired to train in Musical Theater.
Some of Blake’s favorite roles include Pinocchio in Shrek the Musical, Leo Bloom in The Producers, and The Baker in Into the Woods. Blake studied Musical Theater at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York and worked for the Broadway Theatre Project in Tampa, Florida. Blake is currently living in NYC and working at Shuffles Tap and Musical Theater Studio and as a dancing M&M at the M&M’s World Store in Times Square while pursuing his dreams.

“I’m very excited to be back at Fendig this summer. My mom, aunts, uncles, and cousins have all been involved in Fendig productions. I love that I get to work and not only be a part of a family tradition, but a Rensselaer tradition.”
