Blake Rushing, Choreographer
Blake is from Dallas, Texas and is very excited to be a part of the Fendig team this summer. He has been in love with musical theatre since he was very little and his grandma would take him to see the Fendig productions when he would come to Rensselaer to visit. He has trained as a dancer, singer, and actor for more than ten years and was very active in his high school and community theatre departments. His favorite roles include Pinocchio in "Shrek the Musical", Lumiere in "Beauty and the Beast", and the Baker in "Into the Woods". Blake has also worked with the Broadway Theatre Project in assisting them as an intern for their three week long, intensive and has gotten to work with Tony Winners Ben Vereen (Roots) and Donna McKechnie (A Chorus Line).
Blake is currently attending the American Musical and Dramatic College and Conservatory of Performing Arts for Musical Theatre in New York City. When Blake teaches his students, his main goal is to strongly encourage students to practice and to work really hard while having lots of fun. "Practice doesn't make perfect, but it makes almost perfect." Blake is ready to "step in time" this summer with Fendig Summer Theatre.
